Pastel Parallels is an exhibition on the beauty of our natural universe and how it can be juxtaposed with bright and punchy colors. With inspirations pulled from one of my favorite art styles, Danish pastel, and from my cultural background, the Dia de los Muertos celebration. The use of joyous colors symbolize life and combine with anatomical or celestial elements giving the pieces an otherworldly/ethereal feel. This collection is an expression on the duality of strength and beauty, and how they are not mutually exclusive, rather there is beauty in strength and strength in beauty.
